The point of the share should be a little lower than the rest of the bottom (it should point down a little) which helps "suck" it into the ground. You can check for this with a straight edge on the bottom of the plow. The straight edge should touch the point and the heel, but there should be a gap in the middle. The share of a badly worn plow may be worn so that it points up a little, which reminds me of the front of a ski. I think the best remedy in that case is replacement of the worn share. Also if a disk coulter set too low can cause wimpy penetration on hard ground. Good luck!
