Know what you mean about the "DeereMart" One mega dealer has Central Ohio just about locked up, something like 9 locations in total. TV advertising spots and all, with former OH State football stars as spokemen. All the local Deere dealers are gone. There has been a number of newer dealers of other brands: Mahindra, Kubota, LS, Kioti and these are all relatively small dealers... folks I'd rather deal with (bought a Mahindra from our new dealer in town and couldn't be happier with the experience). I'm impressed with the commitment these "foreign" brand are making to the equipment market in the US with assembly plants and expanding dealerships all over the country. As we know many of them have been building small tractors or providing small diesel engines for the "domestic" brands for a long time now.

The local New Holland dealer that had been here since the Ford 9N days was bought out by a bigger dealer on the south edge of Columbus, OH (we dealt with them back in our farming days when I was a kid). They then just this year moved their two locations to a former Saturn dealership location on the southeast side of Columbus. Impressive display of ag and construction equipment there if you are cruising by on SR33 at Hamilton Rd.

Good example of an American made product with a Japanese name is Honda. They started making Gold Wings in Marysville, OH then Accords. There are supporting plants making all sorts of car (and motorcycle?) parts all over Central Ohio. Huge impact in this part of the state. I understand the Accord has the highest domestic made content of any car sold here and they even ship some to Japan! You can go down the list of auto makers with plants in the US and hit about all of the "foreign" makes.

We don't go to WalMart either but will if we have to, nothing against them, just prefer Lowes, Kohl's and Target, and Giant Eagle for groceries.
