All three of these work off the brake line pressure of the tow vehicle, so as soon as you get on the pedal you have trailer brakes. Works a lot better in our hills than the accelerometer style, where you actually have to be slowing down with the truck brakes to get the trailers to kick in. Can take a heck of a lot of truck brake just to hold a constant speed on a 8% grade, much less slow down.
