Finally bought it

Well the 9700 Ford tractor that my grandaddy and his sons bought new in 1977 is now mine.About a year ago I ran a post asking advice on what to do to try to buy it from the bank that was foreclosing on my father and I got all kind of responses and opinions.I decided to just wait out the bank and see what happened and the wait paid off.A repo agent came calling about three months ago and I got the chance to make the bank an offer on the tractor.They took my offer and I sealed the deal yesterday. To most it looks like a worn out piece of junk but if tractors could talk this one has a lot to tell.It was the only tractor ever bought brand new on this farm.This particular tractor participated it the tractorcades of the late 70's or early 1980's and even wound up downtown Atlanta in one.This tractor went through an FHA foreclosure sale(sitting in the farm shop in three pieces) and was bought back by my father in 1985.I have always said I hated this tractor because it always seemd to go down right when you need it but I just couldnt let it go to another home.For the first time since 1977 it does not have a lien on it so maybe it can rest in peace until I get the time to restore it back to its original glory.
