I believe I have the model that you are inquiring about, it has an 18 hp industrial B/S with dual transmissions, 3 high and three low with a 44 inch cutting deck. I haven't had too much trouble with it, only the starter drive approximately $35.00.I have about 2 acres to mow and some light hauling using a large trailer, that's all I use it for. Craftsman tractors were manufactured by Roper Inc., I'm not sure if they still produce for Sears. The other two tractors run OK. One is used with a snow blower and the other for a spare. Craftsman made a great tractor years ago ( Suburban ) these tractors were much heavier and included a cast iron front end with grease fittings. To be more price competitive in today's market Sears has lowered their quality, Sear tractors have poorly constructed steering mechanisms and are very light weight for a garden tractor as some of the other feedback comments mentioned. If you are only going to mow your lawn approximately two acres or less buy it ( $900-1100 ). If you are planning to use rear attachments, i.e. garden plow, rototiller, its too light!
