Mostly right Gene, but the combine factory (harvester works) is in East Moline.

We went to all the close ones, harvester work in East Moline,

engine works and tractor works in Waterloo, IA.

All are free, but as I said reservations are required and yes they

start on a time schedule.

We got into the early ones in Waterloo on a Thursday, drove to

Moline Thursday night and toured harvester works on Friday morning.

Between the Pavilion and harvester works, on the street along the

river is a gift shop and paddle boat tour of the Mississippi river.

The gift shop is, well, a gift shop. But the paddle boat tour was full

of history lessons about the Mississippi, Rock Island Arsenal, etc.

Best place I ate while there was an old barn turned into a restaurant,

next to the toy museum in Dyersville.

Don't miss the worlds biggest truck stop and museum if you go past either!

I posted almost exactly your question before I went.

There is a very nice guy on here that works for JD at the planter factory?

He really helped me out getting in contact with the tour schedulers.

For the life of me I cannot think of his forum handle right now.

If you search the archives I'm sure it'll turn up.
