: : When you pull the raise lever back it takes 3-5 seconds to move.It does not seem to matter where
: : the response lever is set.PLEASE HELP!!!

:
: This delay occurs with or without a load on the
: hitch I have not purchased this tractor yet do
: you think this will be a costly problem to repair
: I also seen some stress cracks on the oil pan
: where it bolts to the back of the transmission
: case on the left side bottom I think pan is cast.

With load or not you're getting a delay, tells me that the unloading valve may be involved.

Are the 454 hydraulics of the same design as the 574? I had to ask because it's been years since working on a 454 and I couldn't get to a book to check. A 574 hitch would be a job too big for someone with no experience, so I suspect you'd be pulling hair out working on the 454. Just a mechanics opinion.

The cast pan with cracks, tells me that it was put together by someone with little experience. The pan casting is heavy enough, that it could be welded and repaired. You'd probably want to take it to a welding shop for that work.

Does it have a diesel or gas engine? Curious? It's a handy tractor and I'd like to have one around.

Milan
