Back about 30 years at a tire - service station, a man brought his AC 190 in for repair on his rear tire. After repairing the rear tire they used a lock on air chuck. While airing up the tire, someone pulled up to the gas pump. He walked out of the shop to pump gas leaving the air chuck on the valve stem. It slipped his mind about the tire and went back into the station. The tire shop was behind the station. About 20 min later he was reminded after everyone for a 5 mile radius heard the explosion. Lucky no one was in the shop. Took the fender, steering wheel completely off. Ruined some of the sheet metal. Broke the overhead door and six roof trusses. A pickup truck was inside the shop, no glass left in it. Tools came off the walls. No one knows for sure how many psi before it let go. The compressor was set at 150 psi.
