: Yes I saw the post on Tractor Tales about ad phrase meanings. : When you read an ad that says 90% restored, what the heck does that mean? Who decides what constitues 90%. It's my guess that one guy might have a real piece of crap and he thinks it's 90% restored, but the true professional restorer would think it's 10% restored. Wild Thing, It makes no difference what level of restoration that somebody says they have done to their tractor, it only becomes my business if an owner is trying to sell that tractor to me, then it becomes my business because my level of restoration may be higher or lower than the owners. If I were interested in buying a tractor I would ask for receipts for the not so obvious items like the mag, starter, generator, waterpump and the motor rebuild. Obviously the tires and the overall condition of the tractor including the quality of the paint and the condition of the tin is something that you can judge from a good visual inspection if it does or does not meet your standards. The bottom line is don't be so concerned if a tractor is a "piece of crap" or not in your eyes until the owner is trying to sell the tractor to you, so lighten up a little and let all tractor owners enjoy their tractors no matter what level of restoration they want to claim.
