The Standard Oil Trust was broken up in 1911 into several regional companies. Standard Oil Company of New York (SOCONY), Standard Oil Company of Ohio (SOHIO), Standard Oil Company of Indiana (which was simply known as Standard then later Amoco), Standard Oil Incorporated (Standard of Kentucky or KYSO), Continental Oil Company (Conoco), Standard Of California (Calso, Chevron), Standard Oil of New Jersey (Esso then later Exxon). I'm sure there were others.
SOCONY merged with Vacuum Oil Company in the early 1930's to create SOCONY-Vacuum which eventually became Mobil.
It's strange that the government felt the need to break up the Standard Oil Trust over a 100 years ago and over time some of the regional Standard companies have merged. Mobil-Exxon is one example. Chevron and Kyso is another.
