May be his opinion, but he's RIGHT! The big three would not do what Toyota is doing.... a few cases in point. Ford has known issues in the early 5.4 V8s blowing the spark plugs out of the head... no action from Ford (but your friendly dealer will helicoil it for about $500, or more!). Known problem with lower rear control arms on Expeditions rotting out and breaking... no action from Ford (but they will sell you the parts for an insane price!). Leaf spring brackets rusting and rotting out on Ford Rangers... local shop replaces 2-3 A DAY! No action from Ford.
My next truck might have to be a Toyota, have had very good luck with a '92 Corolla and an '03 Matrix. Only reason we have a Chevy is we got a very good deal on it from a family member, otherwise want nothing to do with Government Motors.
