: WONDERING WHAT WOULD BE THE PROPER TIRE INFLATION FOR A PAIR OF 6.00 X 16 TIRES I HAVE ON MY TRACTOR CART. I THINK THEY CAME OFF AN OLD MODEL FORD CAR. DP: Check the sidewall. They frequently list recommended pressure along with the other data on the tire. If not, it depends on a couple of things...What ply-rating are the tires? 4-ply won't handle the tire pressure (or load) that a 10-ply will. Also, how big is the cart, and how much are you trying to carry? In general, 4-ply should probably be around 32-35 pounds cold, 10-ply can go up to 70 pounds or so, and in-between (6 or 8-ply) will be somewhere in the middle. All of this supposes tires in good condition, not bald, bulged or too badly weathered or cracked.
