: I had a chance this weekend to run the TO-35 I am rebuilding for quite sometime and I noticed it is pushing a little gray/white smoke out the exhaust. Could this be from a to rich gas setting or do you thing it is oil being pushed through the cylinders?? I was once told that if it is black smoke it was oil and if it was gray it was coming from the fuel mixture. Any truth to this?? : Regards, : Bob Well, i think you may have been given some bum advise on smoke color. Generally, black or grey smoke is unburnt fuel, either too rich a mixture or a bad ignition system or timing. A light white-ish smoke could be two things.....oil getting in the works somewhere or coolant! Have fun! Dale.
