We had heavy rain all day last Saturday, but I still took the plunge on Monday and tilled my maincrop potatoes, before the weeds took over! The drill bottoms were a bit too wet but they worked OK after a bit of drying. Some of you may remember the earlies I planted at the end of February, well this is how far they have grown...it really has been too cold for anything to do well here and we are about 2 weeks late and still getting a north wind. I had to get this work done so as we could get started to the main crop silage for the cows. As you see from the last pic it takes a lot of grass and silage to keep them going! Forecast was good for thursday and friday, so we mowed 130 acres on Thursday and lifted it nice and dry on Friday. All is sealed up in the pit ready for winter!
