It may work if you get timely rains to help get the seeds to sprout. The spear point openers are for wheat and small grains that are not too sensitive to depth, seeding time, soil to seed contact. Your germination on soybeans would be very uneven unless you get a rain right away.
I think it would be best to have someone plant it with a planter that is setup to notill. The singlation, depth control, and improved soil to seed contact would more than pay for the planting cost with a modern planter. Here you can get soybeans planted for $12-15 per acre.
Think about it? With today's bean prices you would only need to get 1 1/2 bushel better yield and you just paid for the planting. The better planting job easily could yield 5-10 bushels more.
The spraying I would not worry too much about. With the Roundup ready beans you can spray and then go back in a week and hit the spots you missed. You have a much wider control window than with the older chemicals.
Another thing to think about is moisture. IF you have plenty of rain this year then no worry. If it is dry the modern planter would not disturb the ground so much and conserve moisture.
