I would imagine that he's either modifying them himself or he's getting them modified specially for his product. They're probably not available off-the-shelf.
If you want something off the shelf look into model airplane brushless motors. They make some pretty huge ones, cheap, these days. The motors can be spun with a windmill and will make electricity same as an alternator. All you need is a 3-way diode rectifier to make the output DC, and a way to regulate the power.
