This is a picture of an old farm house that is in the town I grew up in. It belonged to my grandmothers cousins,A sister and brother lived there. They had property on both sides of the road. They were not rich, just had a lot of land,a peach orchard and had a few cows in a big pasture across the street. The town started out as a farm town, but turned into many delopments of houses. Some of these new people turned these two old people in for having junk around their place,Also the aspca turned them in for their cows not having water in the shed ,The local old time vet at the time went to court with them for free,He explained to the judge how the cows drank from a spring near the barn, and how they had been doing it for 40 years with all the livestock, and their ancestors did it for many years before that,They won that case. They did have to clean up some though. Where the cows were was sold and houses sprung up in the big cow pasture,The two old people had a lot of money for it ,but still lived exactly the same.I remember them driving around in an old car.The last one to live was the sister,She left a lot of money to the church all my dads family went to,,and a small comunity building was built with her name on it and is well apreciated,....The ironic part is ,she left the house to the town, now they proudly display a lot of the rusty stuff all around the yard of the house,,,Some of the same stuff they used to give these people grief about,,,the boy scouts painted up the farmall tractor they had and it is on display out front,You can see across from the tractor where the pasture was is all houses. The rusty stuff displayed around the house is what I posted the other day for SweetFeet,I just didnt have time to post the whole story,I Posted those pictures again to go along with the long story.
I remember when they used to drive the old dodge pickup, and bring peaches to my grandmother.,but I was very young at the time.

Today's Featured Article - The Day Mom Drove the 8N - by Brian Browning. My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o ... [Read Article]
