True story. Back in the 70's, working at an AC dealer, I was tasked with mounting an old snow blower on the back of a snap coupler D17. There were the standard characters I suppose every place like that attracted. This skinny little old guy kind of mumbled through non moving lips. Always had a fat, ugly buddy following along. He comes in and starts in on the snow blower idea. Instead of ignoring him, which I usually did, I had to goad him a little and ask what he's talking about. He says that's all well and good until you get something stuck in the snow blower. I asked how on earth is that going to happen? He came up with the idea of a fence post. I basically told him he was crazy. Why would a fence post be laying out in the drive? Wasn't two weeks later another character comes in. He saunters out into the shop. Starts talking about the snow storm, and how he was blowing a drive when everything came to a halt. Got to digging around in the blower and found a fence post! A shop buddy turns to me and reminds me of my words, and then almost dies laughing. I was dumbfounded.
