Well after reading this forum everyday for the last few years, I thought it was time I join in. A little bit about myself, I collect mostly Ford tractors. My father and I have at this time 8 Fords, some restored and a few still original including a 9N #849, that came out of my close friend, Dwight Enstroms, collection. It was in pieces when I got it and took 3 years to put it back together and was finished about this time last year. I also have a 6cyl Funk that is in nice condition, but not totally restored. 3 8Ns, one that I built into a LCG tractor, one restored 8, and one original '63 4000 that was my grandfather's last tractor. He farmed 180 acres of South Georgia ground with it up until his death in '98. It is restored now and will be passed on to the next generation. I also have a few green tractors and a red one that is not a Ford. I work for a company here in Florida that produces the fertilizer most of you use and yes I know the price is too high. 20 years as a millwright and now a maintenance planner. I work on tractors and anything else that gets dragged into my small shop on the side to earn a few extra bucks and to support my hobbies. I have a couple of welders, lathe, milling machine and large drill press. I look forward to joining in. And to JDseller, I do not always agree with everything you have to say, but you are a man with a big heart and I respect you for that. There are fewer of us everyday.

Today's Featured Article - The Day Mom Drove the 8N - by Brian Browning. My Dad was wanting to put in a garden but couldn't operate the 8N and handle the old horse drawn plow he had found and rigged up to use with the tractor. Well, he decided to go get Mom out of the house and have her drive the tractor while he walked behind the plow. You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o ... [Read Article]
