My first car was a "48 Ford 2dr Sedan, I paid ten dollars for it. (NO rust ,flat head V/8 ran good) My Dad was very upset when he found out and said "You"ve got no more business then the man in the Moon with a car. Had to take it back. A couple years later I bought a "59 Chevy 2 door htp from a back yard dealer. As soon as my dad saw it he said OH NO ! I know that car and the man that had traded it in used it as a work truck, Sooooo back it went. Guess my Dad decided if you can"t beat-em join-em cause a couple weeks later we went to a BIG dealer of mainly Ford products and I finally got MY FIRST CAR!!!! A 1962 Mercury Meteor (Like a Comet only fancier) 2dr sedan, Black with Red and silver interior. Had been the car this big dealer had given his grandson a couple years earlier, now he got a new one. I was in heaven, I loved that car and got rave reviews when I tooled in to school with it. After owning it a year or two I put a 271hp Hi-per 289 motor a borg warner t-10 4 speed, It just couldn"t get any better, I was the proverbial "Happy Camper" ....... Got drafted, took out the engine and transmission (stored them away) and put the original 6 cyl back in and sold it. Really wish I had that one back also.
