I used to be a moderator and an administrator on a petroliana forum. It's not an easy job so I'm not gonna dog the mods for deleting political comments here.
The site I was affiliated with did not allow political comments. The owner of the site had a pretty stringent set of guidelines. The membership never could grasp the concept of no personal attacks and no politics. Made for lots of work for the mods. One difference is we usually removed the offending posts but left the rest of the topic. We rarely removed entire topics. Sometimes, when we could get to a topic before things really got heated, we'd post a reminder to keep the comments within the user agreement. Later, after a software upgrade we had a moderator only forum that we could put the offending comments in. That made it much easier to keep track of who the trouble makers were and eventually some suspensions were handed out.
I sometimes participate on another tractor forum. That site really has censorship issues. One of the mods deleted many negative comments about his former profession then locked the topic. Another mod on that site gets into arguments all the time and has been known to delete comments that prove him wrong and then lock the topic.
That site has an ignore feature which I think is a great idea. Unfortunately the software won't allow you to ignore the mods. LOL

You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day. Dad got her out there, explained how the clutch was the same as in our o
