Well I had a long day yesterday getting things ready for the storm. We had waited because we had fifty degree days just last week. I am not going to run chains around in dry hard gravel.

Anyway, we got the chores done this morning in not too bad a time. So after lunch I laid down for a nap. The Grand daughters made Christmas candy with my wife, feeling a little better, being supervisor.

They woke me up just at 4:00 PM. I thought oh heck it is going to be dark by the time I get chores done. I go in the kitchen to find all my sons, daughter-in-laws (except the one thats a nurse. She stayed at work because some many can't get in)and all the grand kids.

The boys had all the chores done. Including clearing the drive ways and blowing the road out to the main county road. Not just my lane the side road. They cleared the whole length if it. That way the county guys don't have to come down this way. It actually works better for us to blow it as when the county just plows it the next storm make it drift really high. They worked all afternoon moving snow. The two yards that really drift where really full but they where able to just set the chute on the snow blower straight up and they just blew the snow up in the air. The wind is blowing so hard it took it over the barn and out into the field.

So the women had a big pot of homemade veg. soup on and we all eat supper together. The kids all just left so they would be home before dark.

Makes a fellow think he has done some thing right for them to turn out pretty good. All in all I have a pretty good bunch of kids/spouses and grand kids. When you read of all the troubles others have it makes one thankful that the troubles we have had are really minor to what many have to deal with.
