There is only one connection from the power side of the motor to the input side of it. That piece has a slot on one end that runs on a rolled pin and a gear on the other end. You take that piece out and set it on the table slot end down. You draw a line parallel to that slot on the other end from one side of the gear to the other. It needs to be point to point (or I guess you'd say tooth to tooth) across the top of that gear.
When you install the whole shmutz together you drop that piece down in the motor and make sure it is mated with that roll pin. Then install what they call the gerotor (the star gear piece), making sure that the line you drew on that gear top sits right at the bottom of a valley between two points of the star.
Nothing else in there matters. It was so simple I thought that would never do it, but that thing works perfect. I was just sure everything in there need Ed to be "just so", but that one little thing is all that does it.
I saved the instructions that were closest and can email them to folks. I'm sure this stuff used to be common knowledge, but that was 60 years ago.
