That pine you showed by itself, a leaner, I have something to share with you about it.
In '79 myself and my father planted a bunch of trees around the house, which mind you was just completed. Somewhere in '95 during the winter, we had a bunch of snow then a massive thaw and rain, one of the pines blew over, part of the rootball sticking up, just like the one in your photo. Trying to recall now, I think I may have reset it, and it happened again not all that long after in '96. My father called a great old friend whom was a favorite of mine he was one of those guys you just enjoyed, work or what have you, he brought a backhoe on his low boy, never took it off, reset that tree, made some ruts in the lawn and left. I tilled the ruts, replanted and staked off that tree. I can still see exactly where the ruts are because the grass is different, and that tree stands strong as ever, given the winds and weather up on this hill. I cannot recall how long the stake and tiedown has been off it either, it stands on its own for years. Who is to say it could not happen again, but she does have a little lean in the middle but grew straight from there and boy does it shed some pine cones, provides privacy and shade where my best dog lies in peace. The man who came with the backhoe that day passed away later that year, he was in his early-mid 50's way too young had remarried 12 years before, bunch of kids, but everytime I look at that tree and those old ruts I replanted it reminds me of him, he was one of the nicest people you could have as a friend.
