Posted by ibtallwalt on October 19, 2012 at 19:33:44 from (69.54.100.254):

I purchased an electronic module for my 9n. Was shipped promptly.

When received, I found a possible defect prior to installation, contacted YT and received a Return Authorization promptly.

Shipped the item back and recieved a replacement in good time (no rebate of anykind for my return shipping costs tho, as stated there would be, by YT as of this posting).

When received, I found that one of the original issues was present in the replacement part that I had with the original one.

The issue was that the center plastic ring, that is supposed to slide down over the four sided distributor shaft, wouldn't slide down to the needed postition.

I contacted YT and thier reply was "we've sold thousands of these with NO issues, so return it and we'll refund your money (I'm sure the shipping would be at my expense again).

I didn't want a refund, I wanted a product that worked on my 9n.

They're reply was that I must not have an original distributor. Not true, but that was thier position.

I then contacted the manufactuer, and thier original response was the same...but ! !, the service agent (Carl) suggested that I use an eXacto knife or some type of file to gently remove some of the plastic off the flats of the ring that was supposed to slide down the distributor shaft, and see if that worked.... YEP, it did...with the help of my trusty Dremel.

The point is that, I am upset at YT for NOT even mentioning the option of calling the manufacturer or putting out any kind of effort to actually help me in this situation.

Shame....

Anyway, Pertronix is a good company and they were willing to step up and help...as opposed to YT that still owes me return shipping costs for the original part.

W.

p.s. I'll still buy from YT, but, I'll be more proactive in cases that require tech attention or marginally proper part fitting and I'll NOT depend on YT for tech or help.
