: : do you know something about this tracktor??

: : i have one but it do not work.

: Nadav,

: The International TD-6 was introduced in 1940 as the International TD-6 TracTracTor. It had a 247.7 cu in four cylinder diesel engine with a dual combustion chamber head. It was started on gasoline then switched over to diesel. It was tested in Nebraska Test # 345 between May 6 and June 1, 1940 and developed 34.54 belt hp and 28.14 drawbar hp and a maximum pull of 7180 pounds. The TD-6 continued to be built with only minor changes untill 1958 when it was given a six cylinder 282 cu in direct starting diesel engine. Still called the TD-6 with the new engine, it continued to be built both under the International name and under the Dresser name after International sold it's construction division to Dresser. I hope this helps you.

Nadav,

As the TD-6 evolved the horsepower gradually increased. In 1951, still with the 247.7 cu in engine, in Nebraska Test #462 it developed 38.20 belt hp and 31.75 drawbar horsepower and pulled 8131 pounds. In 1956 the engine size was increased to 264 cu in and in Nebraska Test #587 it developed 48.99 belt hp and 39.63 drawbar hp and pulled 8769 pounds. In 1958 when it was given the 282 cu in six cylinder engine the power again increased but I don't have those figures. After the 282 cu in engine was installed, it was called a TD-6 Series B and this series continued under Dresser for a number of years.

Today's Featured Article - Choosin, Mounting and Using a Bush Hog Type Mower - by Francis Robinson. Looking around at my new neighbors, most of whom are city raised and have recently acquired their first mini-farms of five to fifteen acres and also from reading questions ask at various discussion sites on the web it is frighteningly apparent that a great many guys (and a few gals) are learning by trial and error and mostly error how to use a very dangerous piece of farm equipment. It is also very apparent that these folks are getting a lot of very poor and often very dangerous advice fro ... [Read Article]
