: Jim, I have to admit that I was really just trying to stir up some trouble here tonight . I find what you had to say very interesting . I spent some time in the Lancaster, PA. area this Spring and I was really interested in the way the Amish people operate their farms. I happened to be in the area during Spring plowing and spent some time watching . On a quiet back road I watched as six horses pulled a double bottom plow . As they passed by all I heard was the heavy breathing of the team as it approached and as it passed , the sucking sound of the plows shearing and turning the earth . It must be nice to spend time that way .

Are you out of your pea picking mind, walking for miles behind a horse? I'll bet, after the first week, those romantic desk jockey dreams, would be as worn out as your feet. Your a good writer and you make it sound wonderful, but before long it would become just work, and damn hard work.
As far as the putt-putt, thats why I bought mine, to regress, away from the high revving modern engine. But I'm a long way from walking around a field behind a mule. You know people didn't live long back in those days and it wasn't because of the lack of exercise.
Enjoy your writing by the way.
