This way you get the correct parts for your truck. My truck has dual alternators. It is what comes on the "Snow Plow" package. Dealer wanted a total of about $1,000.00 to install tow mirrors on my 2011 3500HD. It was something like $650.00 for the mirrors, plus labor, plus re-programming of computor. What a bunch of bull. I was told about the GMparts direct. Long story short, I purchased genuine GM tow mirrors for approx: $350.00. Installed them myself. They simply bolt on. Never had to touch the computor. The new mirrors plugged into the same socket as the old small mirrors. Now I know why dealers are dubbed "Stealers". I saved $650.00
