Fella wanted to be rid of the radiator for $50, no fuss with it. You didn't offer him that, you offered him the fuss of shipping it off. No sale.
Next fella is willing to pay 3x the price, and then the fuss of shipping it off is worth it.
Sounds like good business to me. Buying & selling as it is supposed to work.
Hay is in short supply. Those that need to buy hay need to either pay more for it, or use less of it. This will allow the amount of hay available to match the demand for hay.
We are in a heck of a pickle if everyone only charged the same for hay this year as they did last year - that's a disaster.
Folks buying hay will buy the same as they did the year before, and come February, we will be out of hay and then what???? No one is prepared.
We are a lot better off if hay producers charge more for hay now, so those buying hay take notice, and make plans to use a bit less.
This is markets at work.
Two people wanted the radiator. The guy who wanted it more was willing to pay more, and the sale happened. The tire kicker didn't get the job done.
