Rain Today

I can't believe it, darned pan outside had 1" of rain in it this morning, everything has been wilted, like weeds and trees, hope there is more for everyone in the drought, humidity was incredible this morning. Right now we're getting another soaker.

Due to the dryness, and I've never had one do this before, in this garden I think a woodchuck dug under my chain link fence with the sharp edges embedded a few inches, then he mowed down a fresh, (30 days growing) 12'-0" row of lettuce, I got one bowl off it sunday and was looking forward to taking a little every day, now its all trimmed off, he's the last one, I've killed 4 recently and I have been after him awhile, sneaky covert, special ops type dude he is and I know, he's just trying to survive, its been so dry. I have this older have a heart trap, darned trigger is missing something or just too sensitive, 2 bent thick wires somehow butt against each other real tough to get it to stay, he's set it off, but not got caught, did get a chipmunk in it though!

They must smell the forage or something, has to be the drought, normally there is plenty of forage as I do not spray the lawns, not a lot of grass but a lot of what the critters like rabbits and 'chucks eat, we don't get this dry very often, but I can say this area is hurting for rain just the same just based on what these critters are doing.
