Again I wasn't trying to make a case for not wearing a helmet. I was saying in this case a helmet would not have saved them. We had a guy in Germany in the 80's who hit a car head on. He was wearing a helmet. He hit so hard that his head was mishapped. I'm pretty sure that that young man and woman would have died anyway when they hit hard enough to break that rear wheel center. And the fact the news media was quick to point out they were not wearing helmets.
Kinda like that mad man who ran over the police cars that they charged him with fleeing the scene of an accident....WTF???? He deliberately ran over those cop cars. It was destruction of property not an accident so how can they charge him with fleeing?????
I stopped riding years ago. While I was in the Army you had to wear long sleeves, gloves, long pants, shoes that covered the ankle, windshield or goggles/face shied and a helmet. Then they decided that you had to wear a reflective vest like road construction workers wear. That's when I quit riding.
