Folks gave me some recipes for pickles a while ago.... Last week, I decided to try some....
Was getting some things together and the only vinegar I could find in the house was some kinda sweet stuff from a local distillery (??) that the wife puts on salad... Remembering how good the salads are, I tasted the vinegar outta the bottle..... All my good intentions just kinda evaporated.... Washed/sliced the cucumbers, filled a tupperware bowl half full, covered them about an inch over with the vinegar, fresh ground black pepper til I sneezed, put the lid on and kinda sloshed em around. Put em in the fridge and sloshed em a little as I thought of it. Today was 9 days. I just finished them off and they were pretty tasty. Real close to the B&B pickles and still a little crunchy.
