Used the saw this morning. It's the perfect saw for my needs. I don't plan to cut firewood. My goal was to cut branches in to 10 ft or less, so I can put them on my 10ft dump trailer, take them to the country and have a bond fire when there is snow on the ground. Now we are so dry, there has been a burn ban for over 2 months.
I love the saw, easy to tighten chain, no noise, no smoky exhaust, chain runs faster than my other Mac electric. No regrets. The way I see, I could buy 6 of these saws for the price of the expensive ones that others recommend buying.
Yes, there may be the issue of extension cords for most people. I carry 250 ft of 12 g cords in my truck. One of the cords has a grabber plug. It actually holds on the what you plug in to it.
I also have a tractor and log chains. When I was a kid, we would take the tractor to the woods and drag out the lumber we were going to cut up with an old buzz saw powered by another tractor and flat belt. Talk about dangerous! I see no reason why I can't drag what I'm cutting within 250 ft of a building.
The same with honda generators. I could buy 4 subaru generators for the price of a Honda.
There may be no question that the other produces aren't better, but look at the cost and how many times you can replace them. I'm 63 and I don't think I'll wear out one saw. Would love to live long enought to wear out 6 of them.
