James,
What strain of Bahia grass are you talking about? I just bought some Pensacola Bahia and planted it with some Pearl Millet. I had about 3-4 different grasses come up and I'm trying to figure out which is Bahia.
Bahia to me shot a seed stem up well above the leaves which were 3/8" wide and didn't grow that tall, and on the end of the very thin seed pod stem was a V shaped array of seeds.......similar to Common Bermuda but only 2.
I have what looks like Foxtail Millet with fuzzy seed pods straight off the end of the stem and the end of the pod drapes over slightly, and another thing that looks like a Douglas Firs branches (straight out) and there may be half a dozen up 2" of pod stems.
I have compared seeds from what I thought was the Foxtail with some seeds from the Bahia seed bag I bought and the seeds look just alike.
Glad you got some rain. We got some too and have TS in the forecast for most of the week. Hay patch is really coming on nicely.
