The Murphy's had a family reunion at my place today...
Plan yesterday evening was to get up, do the chores, mow/ted most of the hay, do some more haftado stuff and come to work..
Got up, no hot water, heating oil was empty. Grab 5 gallon of diesel from my tractor stash, jerryrig it and get the heater going.
Chore loop, 2 horses meet me in the road and run around like idiots... Move a tree limb I have been after a guy about for a month, fix the fence, put them back.
Finish the loop, and decide to make a detour thru the woods and stop at my favorite spot to look over the countryside and regroup a few minutes.... Get to about the farthest point from town and car just stops.. No warning, just cuts off and won't start. Walk 2 miles back to town, neighbor kid's dad comes and tows me to the shop...
Back home, hook up mower and start. Several smaller places. One down, start the next that I hadn't mowed before. Got too close to a creek (ditch) bank because the grass hid it some and almost turned over. Saved the rollover by turning in to the ditch. Loader wedged on the opposite side and kept from doing any damage but I was stuck. Walk a half mile or so to the kid's dad and he comes with the tractor and pulls me out.
Continue mowing and finish up a mile from home, halfway back have a flat on a frt tire, get it in the woods out of sight and leave it/beat feet to the house and the quad to finish up chores before dinner and night shift... Nothing got tedded, other hafta do stuff got reprioritized, and I get to skip sleeping in the morning to get the tire fixed, ted, and catch up before night shift tomorrow... And hope the car doesn't cost a fortune...
Someone remind me that hobbies are sposedtabe fun.....
