I have no experience with the Dodge 4.7, but I drive a 2008 F150 with the 4.6. (95,000 miles on it)
It got about 18~20MPG new, before I changed the street tires for some all terrains. After the tire swap it gets about 15. Dropped right out of the tire store parking lot.
Power is adequate. I pull a 20 ft deck-over trailer that weighs 2000 pounds empty and have hauled a 4500 pound tractor on it. Far below the "rated" load, but all that it really wanted to do.
