Posted by kruser on May 01, 2012 at 18:38:13 from (75.145.182.121):

On the first day, God created the dog and said "sit by the door and bark at anyone who comes in". For this I will give you a lifespan of 20 years." The dog said "That's a long time to be barking - How about about only 10 years and I'll give you back the other 10?

On the second day, God created the monkey and said "Entertain them, do tricks and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a 20 year life." The monkey said "Monkey tricks for 20 years? That's a pretty long time. How about I give you back 10 like the dog?"

On the third day, God created the cow. "You must go out to the field and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of 60 years". The cow said "That's kinda a tough life you want me to live for 60 years. How about 20 and I'll give back the other 40?

God agreed and on the forth day, created humans and said "Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this I will give you 20 years". But the human said, "Only 20 years? Could you possibly give me my 20, the 40 the cow gave back, the 10 the monkey gave back and the 10 the dog gave back; that makes 80 - Okay?"

Okay said God - You asked for it.

So for the first 20 years, we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves.
For the next 40 years, we slave to support our family.
For the next 10 years, we do monkey tricks for the grandchildren.
And for the last 10 years, we sit on the porch and bark at anything that moves!

PS: Didn't think it would be this long.

Today's Featured Article - Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point ... [Read Article]
