It sounds like a carburation problem to me, unless its a result of the tractor getting bogged down. you may want to try opening up the needle valve on the carb, and make sure fuel line and sediment bowl are clean. : I am attempting to take care of my neighbor's Golden Jubilee ever since her husband died. While using the brush hog, the tractor dies and backfires, but will start back again, sometimes after two tries. It runs for about 5 or 10 minutes and does the same thing again. Any suggestions? I would guess it's the carburetor. If that's the case, can I make an adjustment or am I better off buying a new one. I am mechanically minded, but would like to know if somewone has been here before. Also would be interested in sources of information about taking care (general stuff) of the tractor. Would appreciate any help.
