Seed onions, sprouts at some stores in Wisconsin marked as from Texas, sweet potato slips also. And Texas has had some bad growing weather past couple years so no surprise if short on ag products. Seed potatoes? Depends some on variety, the local Jungs grows a lot of zone specific stuff here and Minnesota, but does have a seed growing location/supplier site list that notes some southern areas. Late 1970s when seed corn plots in Wisconsin and other areas without irrigation had bad harvest the extra seed stock came from South America, Mexico and that was enough to cover the first short seed year- but next year was irrigation building time and some varieties were short, some talk of getting Amish corn crib kernals to fill bags with at least some cattle feed seed- this was the year I had job during seed corn picking for Blany seed contract harvestor- and sweet corn seed was noted to be grown in sourhtern states as the long time to dry seed harvest time meant the recently popular extra sweets couldn't reach maturity for use as seed before frost. Garden seed growing areas might have had some weather problems affecting seed stock supply - and if from Texas no surprise. RN
