I am not really up to speed on the whole issue but from reading a couple of blogs I got the impression that copyright infringement IS a problem. But from what I read this measure is an attempt to infringe upon the rights of the many for the sake of a few. The few in this case are big Hollywood types and the big recording studios, etc that are pushing for this. Now I know there are a lot of people who don't like big corporations in this country but I'm not one of those. I think most big companies supply a product that many of us want and are willing to pay for. Not real interested in discussing that aspect of things here - just stating a personal opinion. But I do not look real favorably at big Hollywood for several reasons and while I'm sympathetic to them being ripped off I'm Not so sympathetic that I want to see them trample upon the rights of the little guy to insure their annual profits. I will email my two senators and my congressman this evening and tell them I think this is bad legislation. I hope that others here do the same.
