Just got a dose of reality today and wondering what I have to look forward to......

Been here 22 years and have a retired sergeant Major that had been retired a year or so before I got here.... Real good guy and I always allowed extra time when I needed to go where he worked.. FF and he's I guess pushin 70 and still sharp & very active... Last 8 or 9 years, I'd just see him in passing and maybe talk to him on the street a few minutes or run into him at the credit union..... Anyway, he went to the states on vacation a few weeks ago & I told him he could send packages to my address and pick them up when he got back.... He sent one and I got it yesterday. Called him and told him I had 2nd shift today and he could show up after 1700 to pick it up (offices are empty then)....

He shows up at 1530 and starts talking all this doomsday stuff and about militias and needing to get that ____ out of office yadda yadda.... Couldn't get him to shut up or change the subject and he started yacking at other folks in the office.... Finally got rid of him and the boss called me in and wanted to know my relationship with him and suggested I cut all ties if I wanted to stick around (in my job)..... I've seen nuts, but never anyone that I liked and respected so much and someone that still looks and acts sharp...... Is that what alzheimers does to people (don't know if he has it)????
