All of the soil loads can be calculated once you know the angle of repose(Phi)of the existing soil. Ka= tan squared (45-Phi/2) then depending on the height of fill the load can be determined and the span of the sheathing, the size of the vertical supports, etc can all be designed to hold the soil back in a safe manner
