"a 24 or even 36 volt motor because the amp draw is so much less on these same thrust motors extending battery run time" . . . is not true.
To do the same work, a higher voltage motor draws less amps but runs on the same wattage regardless of voltage choice.
A 12 volt motor runs just as long as a 24 or 36 volt motor on the same size battery bank.
Some lets say a one 1/2 horse motor rated 12 volts is hooked to pair of 110 AH batteries hooked in parallel.
A second 1/2 horse motor rated 24 volts is hooked to pair of 110 AH batteries hooked in series.
Both will have the same run time.
Now with the issue of Ion batteries lasting longer then flooded-lead-acid? Depends how you figure it. Run time versus battery weight? Run time versus dollars spent?

Today's Featured Article - The Nuts and Bolts of Fasteners - Part 2 - by Curtis Von Fange. In this segment we will finish up on our fasteners and then work with ways to keep them from loosening up in the field. Capscrews, bolts and nuts are not the only means of holding two parts together. When dealing with thinner metals like sheet tin, a long bolt and
