Our son had a new mound put in last year in Esko, MN. Cost him a little over $15,000! He knew this up front, that's just what they cost in his area, because all the material had to be hauled in. Different areas costs can vary, due to availability of material and contractors. For a well, I would talk to some of the close neighbors about depth and water quality, having a well drilled is a gamble, but it's better than going to the casino! We have gotten by pretty reasonable on the ones we have had drilled, but I do all the pump installation and hook up myself. Where we live now we have a good well and mound system, (5 years old) and now they are talking about city sewer, $21,000 not including water. How stupid to dig everything up and not put in both! Then after you are hooked up there will be a monthly bill forever. a good well and mound system can last a long tome(30+ years) and only costs a little electricity.
