LOL what I was refering to is that you can have perfect shot placement but if the bullet is out of energy that perfect placement means nothing. No energy equals no penetration! That perfect "heart shot" isn't much good if the bullet only goes in an inch or gets stopped by a rib. 25.06 at 400 yards with Federal 117 grain ammo still has 1150 Lbs of energy, thats almost twice what the 243 delivers. I shoot 270, at 400 yards, with Federal 140 grain I'm still getting 1500 LBS of energy but if I drop down to 115 grain to get better velocity I drop to 683 LBS of energy. Thats where your 25.06 has the advantage is the extra velocity that makes all the difference in the world.
I reload so I just picked Federal to compare with.
