Alan, 2nd pix is the result of parents who have no value instilled in that generation,(or do they)? If I pizz off folks ,so be it. I'm a vet who served in the military,so If nothing else, I have a right to speak. I was not in any mortal danger at the length of my military servce, although I could have been in serious situations. Short story (as i can make it)begins when a 17 year old male, out of school, with no job market skills ,tried to find work to help support mother, sister. divorced parents with no financial help from the father, had no other choice then military ,or jail for criminal activity. The lad chose the military even though he was asthmatic and considered 4 F . The lad had to ask the Dr(family)to write on his behalf that he would be O.K for Military service. In other words, the lad badly needed a paycheck to keep the family afloat.Well the lad got accepted and inducted into the U.S.A.F.in 1954-58 war was going on then. Was called to the base several times for NATIONAL ALERT, confined to base under guard till the all clear was sounded.Looking back, The old man now wonders if thats the senerio for our Young folks. NO WORK AVAILABLE, Family about to lose everything they worked for over the years, or trying to make ends meet for their new family.(*wife and kids).Gotta remember, WAR IS profitable for the giants of industry, governments pushing agendas that arent at all necessary to maintain security. Oh yea, I'll hear from those who believe that 9=11 started the justification for all those countries we are fighting in. But stop to think, If our economy was going strong, great paying jobs, just how many would sign up for the military?????Just got to wonder. From an old honorably discharged Veteran who loves this country. The picture of the young folks is evident to the fact that if good paying jobs and a sound economy was prevelant in this day and age, would this picture be available for comment now??? LOU.
