Have to agree with LJD, in a nutshell a lead acid battery is an electro chemical energy storage device so the more lead and acid (i.e. more WEIGHT) you have usually the more stored energy.
From there you get into the use, a heavy high amp short term capacity to start a car versus more of a longer deeper discharge slow discharge like for a boats trolling motor or an RV etc.
And in addition to CCA theres Reserve Capacity to consider while to me stored energy (Volts x Amps x Time) is one of the more important specs to consider. I cant answer your question exactly, other then the 650 may have more reserve time??? Id probably opt for the 975 if I had to start a vehicle in extreme cold temps.
