Not really. No way to really tell how long anything is going to last. Some vehicles will have a reputation for early failures but thats not the norm. Some Fords had the modual that screwed on the side of the dizzy that were failure prone but some would last forever and others died young. On electricts like that the best way to repiar it is to buy the best quality part available. Sometimes companies like Blue Streak and Echlin actually make a better replacement than OEM.
As far as water pumps and other hard parts, are they OEM? If so can't really say. Some designs are not the best and toher times it's the operator and how they care for things. In general most OEM parts like that will out last after market and remans.
About the only time you will find me replacing something that isn't broke is when rebuilding an engine. Then I always insatll and new oil pump, water pump and rebuild the ignition system. I also have the stater and alt bench tested too.
