I think JD is on the right track but prices will vary due to location too. Where I'm at some of the old Fords are still going for good money. Thats because by and large we have a lot of city people who own land in the area. Most of it between 2 and 40 acres. So they decide that they want a tractor for mowing and think the old tractors are cool. SO put an old Ford out by the highway here and a 2 grand price tag on it and it's gone. Adn that for one far from perfect. Restore one and try to get 3k out of it and you are going to be holding onto it. From using the computer to look I can find those Fords in other areas for 1 K.
Tractor prices are kinda funny right now. Part due to grain prices. Lot of guys have gotten newer or new equipment and for 50 HP and bigger they have flooded the used market. Was looking at prices last night. I can buy a Stieger Couger II with all new rubber, very clean tractor with 2k on a reman for 13k. I can find 1586 IH tractors for as little as 9500. An early 60's utility type runs in the 5k range! I can find early 60's 70-90 HP diesels for the same money in row crop. Go out to the big grain country and look. Daughters FIL got a 1206 IH, open station, 5500 original hours, duals that had never been outside over night, good rubber about 80% with hub duals for 2800. That' a chore tractor out there!
