well I bought the truck last night after looking closer, heres what i found,F 150 XLT LARIAT and not a 250 as originally stated, really straight body, with very minimal rust just starting over one back fender well, excellent interior, paint in good cond and in fact the bed is not even scratched up bad, the only piece of trim even broken is the plastic insert on tailgate.definitly a 351 w,but i got two different stories on engine.talked to both son and grandson.son said they replaced timing chain, and carb was bad before.grandson said they replaced timing chain didnt get it right so it wouldnt start.either way its not a big deal timing is easy enough to check.some work done to engine in the past, mainly to remove emmision setup(headers, dual exhaust installed etc) to try to increase mileage.only thing i did not find is the ac compressor that they must have removed to work on timing chain, but its likely there.shoot for 175 dollars i couldnt pass on it,if nothing else it would make a pretty grocery hauler.I have somewhere around here a set of 2:11 gears that may fit rearend and that may help gas situation.I have another grandaughter turning sixteen before long might make a good first vehicle for her also. Thanks for the replies!
